Fertility & Obstetrics
Different factors can influence a woman’s fertility and/or capacity to achieve a full-term pregnancy.
Progesterone is a key factor in women’s fertility. Progesterone is the ‘hormone of pregnancy’. This hormone creates a fertile environment for the conception and the development of the embryo. Progesterone also helps to prepare the woman's body for pregnancy.
One common cause of infertility or miscarriage is the lack of female hormones. The most common one is progesterone insufficiency. Without adequate progesterone impregnation, the uterus will not be prepared to receive the fertilized egg and therefore will reject it.
Natural Micronized Progesterone is often given to increase the conception’s success rate either in natural cycles or in in-vitro fertilization programmes (IVF) and to help maintain pregnancy.
Natural Micronized Progesterone given orally or vaginally can also prevent a preterm delivery in high-risk women.
Natural Micronized Progesterone is also efficient in acute preterm delivery through anxiolytic and tocolytic (anti-contractions) properties.
